In line with the fifth (5th) Global Sustainable Development Goal on Gender Equity, at ICS, we take pride in being among the few organizations that ensure we have youth, persons with Page 7 of 32 disabilities, and women in key positions in our governing council and management staff. Our team comprises energetic, dynamic, and committed individuals.

ICS is governed by a board of directors drawn from the Society membership who bring a blend of different knowledge and skills gathered from their academic background and professional experience. The skills set includes, but is not limited to, legal, human resources, communication, finance, and policy formulation, among others, who serve for a renewable term of four years.

We are very intentional about including the youth, women, and persons with disability in our top decision-making organ, the board, and that is why our membership has persons with disability being 50%, with the number of women being 70% of the directors at any given time.

ICS has a team of dedicated and highly skilled staff members from different backgrounds who bring diverse knowledge and experience, with some working full-time while others volunteer part-time to ensure the organization’s successful operation. In our quest for inclusion, we acknowledge that women and people with disability are often excluded from most opportunities, which explains why we prioritize two groups of people in our management staff and all our programs.

We pride ourselves on having not less than 50% of our staff being persons with disability, and we are also intentional about ensuring that youth and women take up key roles in the management of the organization, and that is why we have not least 50% of the staff being women and youth at any given time.
